3 Non-Surgical Treatments for Destroying Fat

November 15, 2017

Millions of Americans suffer with some sort of weight or body image issue. As we get older, these issues become increasingly difficult to deal with, and diet and exercise alone often fall short. For years, people dealing with excess weight or loose skin have resorted to surgical procedures to get results. However, these procedures are painful, expensive, and often result in undue stress and inconsistent outcomes. Thankfully, there are non-surgical options that not only permanently destroy fat cells, but also sculpt and contour the body to make torsos, arms, chins, thighs, obliques, and backsides look tighter, younger, and more alluring.

Kybella

This injectable procedure is the only FDA-approved non-surgical treatment for permanently getting rid of excess fat under the chin. This area of subcutaneous fat (often referred to as the dreaded double chin) can be an extremely difficult area to remedy, as it occurs in many people even after they’ve been able to reduce fat in various other parts of their bodies.

Kybella uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule found throughout the human body, to target living fat cells. Deoxycholic acid works by breaking down these fat cells and flushing them from the body. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer be recreated. The result is a chin that looks tighter, slimmer, and better contoured to the face.

Vanquish

For patient dealing with unwanted body fat, Vanquish is a terrific option. This non-invasive procedure makes no contact with the skin, as the device hovers over problem areas to be treated. Using thermal technology, Vanquish emits energy to heat fat cells to a specific temperature. Once heated, these fat cells are destroyed permanently.

Vanquish is designed for use on the midsection, and its unique shape lends well to simultaneously treating the belly and obliques. Additionally, this procedure does not harm any surrounding tissue or the skin’s outermost layers. This ensures that internal organs, surrounding muscle, and the skin’s surface remain free of any associated harm.

CoolSculpting

Like Vanquish, CoolSculpting targets the body’s midsection to tighten the skin and reduce fat. Unlike Vanquish, however, CoolSculpting can be used on other areas of the body, including the buttocks, inner and outer thighs, and under the chin.

As its name suggests, CoolSculpting harnesses cooling technology to freeze fat cells and remove them from the body. As fat is much more susceptible to cold than skin or muscle, surrounding tissue is unaffected.

Getting rid of stubborn fat can be a daunting task. But it’s important to remember that not all hope is lost. And thanks to advances in non-surgical treatment options, patient can experience profound weight loss benefits without having to resort to surgery.
