The Secret to 20,000 Crunches in 30 Minutes with No Pain

November 7, 2018

On the surface, it may sound too good to be true: the equivalent of 20,000 crunches in 30 minutes without any grueling or painful workout. But with seven clinical studies and FDA approval behind it, Emsculpt’s breakthrough technology is a fact.

Very simply, Emsculpt is revolutionizing body sculpting. The technology uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to trigger what’s called supramaximal contractions – which can’t be achieved by voluntary muscle action – to deliver an abdominal workout not possible by any other means. It works on the buttocks, too, delivering an equivalent of 20,000 squats in those same 30 minutes. All with no downtime.

The FDA has cleared Emsculpt for the “improvement of abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles, development of firmer abdomen, and strengthening, toning, firming of the buttocks.”

In short, Emsculpt works. All the gain without the pain.

What sets Emsculpt apart from other body sculpting technologies is the one-two punch it delivers. First, it implodes fat cells. Second, it builds muscle fibers. In fact, studies show that after four treatments, fat is reduced by 19% and muscle is increased by 16%, resulting in more defined abs and rounder derrières.

How Emsculpt Works

Emsculpt causes 20,000 muscle contractions in 30 minutes and targets fat loss to the area of the muscle, which is something sit-ups or squats could never do on their own. Because the muscles are being overworked beyond their physiological norm, they respond by releasing chemicals locally.

In the abdomen, these chemicals signal fat cells around the muscles to break down into free fatty acids. The sheer abundance of these fatty acids overwhelms the fat cells, causing them to malfunction and die. The body then metabolizes these dead fat cells and excretes them as waste. Meanwhile, while fat cells are being destroyed and eliminated from the body, the muscles themselves are thickening and strengthening, providing greater definition to the abs.

Emsculpt works essentially the same for the butt, although the protocol is slightly different, as it focuses on creating nicely rounded gluteal muscles without destroying the fat that gives the derrière its shape.

For maximum results, four sessions, spaced a few days apart are recommended. Within two to four weeks, you’ll get the same head-turning results that normally come from six months of exercise and diet. While other body sculpting technologies take months to see results, Emsculpt delivers noticeable improvements in weeks. In fact, many patients report seeing noticeable changes within days after their first treatment.

What is a Treatment Session Like?

The Emsculpt procedure feels like an intensive workout. You can lay down and relax during the treatment while the 30-minute ab protocol cycles through three phases. In the first cycle, the machine contracts the muscles a hundred times in a couple of seconds, while in the second cycle, Emsculpt increases the intensity by contracting the muscles a thousand times in a couple of seconds. Although it is a 10-fold increase in muscle contractions, it is almost imperceptible to the patient. In these first two cycles, you will feel subtle tightening of the muscles and some tingling.

The third cycle slows the contraction rate to about 10 per second, which is designed to flush out any toxins or lactic acid that may have been discharged into the body during the course of treatment.

Because Emsculpt uses magnetics in its technology, it should not be used by those with metal or electronics inside their bodies, including pacemakers. Also, Emsculpt should not be used by women who are pregnant.
