Kybella injection is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment offered in Atlanta that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin.” The injection contains a naturally occurring molecule which eats away at fat. When injected properly, all other cells are left healthy and intact.

Your physician will create a tailored treatment plan based on your chin profile. At each treatment, you will be given multiple small injections under your chin. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatments.

Kybella is now available at all three of our office locations. Call for a FREE consultation today.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW CAN I SAVE ON TREATMENTS?

Enroll in the Brilliant Distinctions Rewards Program to save money on Kybella treatments. You earn points on each treatment that you can redeem for savings on future treatments. You can also earn and redeem points on other selected treatments that your specialist may determine are right for you.

How does Kybella work?

The active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. Kybella treatment does not work the same for every patient, you and your doctor will decide how many treatments you need.

How is Kybella administered?

Kybella is administered by injections into the fat under the chin. Each in-office treatment session is typically 15-20 minutes. Treatment with Kybella is customized by the physician to the patient’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile. Up to six treatments, no less than one month apart, is recommended for the best results.

HOW LONG WILL RESULTS LAST?

When injected into fat under the chin, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After reaching your desired aesthetic, further treatment is not expected.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Your specialist will create a tailored treatment plan based on your chin profile. At each treatment, you will be given multiple small injections under your chin. You may receive up to 6 treatment sessions, spaced at least 1 month apart. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 Kybella treatments.

What are my results?

Many patients experienced visible results in two to four treatments. Most patients also reported improvement in the emotional impact of submental fat when asked how happy, bothered, self-conscious, embarrassed, old and overweight they felt following treatment in relation to the amount of their submental fat.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. These are not all of the possible side effects of Kybella. You should call your physician if you develop open sores or drainage from the treatment area or for medical advice about side effects.

WHAT IS KYBELLA?

Kybella is a prescription medicine and is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”

It is not known if Kybella is safe and effective for use outside of the submental area or in children less than 18 years of age.

What is submental fullness?

Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin,” is a common yet under-treated facial aesthetic condition. It can impact a broad range of adults, including both men and women, and can be influenced by several factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain, and is often resistant to diet and exercise alone. If you’re bothered by submental fullness, you’re not alone. According to a 2014 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), 68% of people said they’re bothered by under-the-chin fullness, or double chin and many people are just as bothered by under-the-chin fullness as they are by lines and wrinkles around and under their eyes.
